Wastewater Treatment Plant Phase I Expansion
CompletedTotal Project Cost: $48,240,617
This project expanded the peak treatment capacity of the regional wastewater plant from 21 million gallons per day (MGD) to 32.7 MGD. The project added an aerobic treatment train, with aerations basins, secondary clarifiers, and aerobic digesters to operate in parallel with the pre-existing anaerobic treatment train. A dewatering facility with presses and biosolids storage area was constructed to handle the increased volume of biosolids. An effluent pumping station was constructed to ensure discharge to the Ohio River even in times of high water levels. To improve process control, a modern well-equipped laboratory was constructed in the former administration building and a new administration structure with a map room and training room was constructed on the east side of the facility.
